Here at Atlanta Transgender, we strive to bring compassion into the lives of those who struggle with acceptance and to bring support to those who embrace their true colors. We are here. We are family.

What Is Transgender
Transgender defined means, “denoting or relating to a person whose sense of personal identity and gender does not correspond with their birth sex.”
Transgender is a blanket term for many different types of people. Not everyone who comes into the Transgender community is looking to have gender reassignment surgery. There are a wide variety of people who look to us for support. Transgender can include people who are looking to fully transition, people who crossdress as well as those who live day to day as the opposite sex but have no desire to fully transition.
Here is a quick overview of some of the people who are considered transgender:
- Transgender (Pre-op, post-op, and non-op)
- Crossdressers
- Gender Fluid
- Genderqueer
- Questioning etc.
It’s our duty to accept everyone into this group and support them no matter what they’re going through. Please be kind to others in dialogue on this site. Remember that kindness is always free.

So many people in the trans community find themselves believing that the world is against them and in some cases, it may be. We’re here to build an empire and support people who may be going through a transition and their loved ones.
What Can I Do To Help?
Everyone can help the people around them. You don’t have to be transgender in order to help your fellow man, however, most people in the transgender chat and trans dating profiles are trans. One of the perks about this fact is that we all know what it’s like to go through something that we can’t control, like gender dysphoria. As with anything else in life, you can choose to help and protect. That is the most important gift you can give to any of us here in the Atlanta transgender community.
